Apify ● Product Designer

Within the Apify Design team, I am in charge of the website of company. I also need to switch my roles between web and console if there’s related work.

What I’ve done so far

• Collaboration and participation in multiple projects
  • Not only design the websites, but I also need to support the marketplace within the console
  • Define and discover the new user journey and problems after pivoting to the new strategy
  • When silos occurred in between teams, proactively communicate and define the scope of the tasks
  • Values giving while delivering the projects

  • Collaborate with the product manager, actively attending the user calls and understanding their needs
  • Look into data and flexibly modify the design
  • Provide feedback and solutions in an agile environment (wireframe and prototype)
  • Brave to challenge the existing situation. While challenging the situation, I often ask the support from the data team and look into data to back up my point of view.
  • Think about the setting of A/B testing for validating design output

As a pure artist who jumped into the digital area, it was the period I switched my mindset to more deep consideration of user experience while working closely with UX designer. I’ve gained experience in collaborating in a global team, communicating with developers and engineers, doing user research, adapting myself with flexible ability to the diversity of our products, and considering business needs and technical constraints. More specific technique parts would be providing wireframes and prototypes and maintaining the design system.

Though it wasn't a job related to tech products, I feel the experience was not in vain. I’ve worked on several projects and needed to provide qualified visuals for bookstore branches around Taiwan. Worked closely with the project manager and kept outputs within budget. I’ve been trained by my supervisor the “Eagle eyes with details”. That’s how I manage to assure the quality of visuals and am able to collaborate with developers smoothly in my current position.
